The Amazing and Unique BAZ™ Knife Sharpening Jig Handle V4.1 bolts straight onto self-centering knife jigs such as the KJ-45* and KJ-140*, found on many leading water-cooled sharpening systems, giving a firmer, more natural hold for smoother, more consistent sharpening strokes.
Based on thousands of hours using systems of this style, this handle was engineered through real-world experience — not theory. It’s the strongest and most refined version yet, featuring a 100% solid-fill design tested under extreme stress levels.
Ready to bolt on with no modifications, no glue, no hacks required. Just a heavier-duty, better-balanced handle that makes every pass on the grinding wheel calmer, straighter, safer and more predictable.
The new Version 4.1 features a thicker, more robust 100% solid shaft, slightly wider thumb cup for even more stability and strength and is 5mm longer to suit the rare situation where you might want to sharpen a very narrow blade such as a very small well used narrow pocket knife.
⚙️ Key Benefits
• More control, less wobble – thumb-cup and grip geometry give stable pressure and cleaner strokes.
• Comfort that lasts – neutral wrist position reduces hand fatigue during long sessions.
• Bolt-on simplicity – installs in about 60 seconds; no cutting or gluing.
• Built to work – solid, heavy-duty feel that turns your jig into a tool, not a toy.
🔩 Features → What You Feel
• Wider thumb-cup dome → precise tip control and pressure without finger strain.
• Wider guard / flange → confident palm index; keeps your hand off the wheel splash.
• Super-reinforced neck → firm leverage with almost zero flex.
• Lightly textured finish → secure grip, even when wet.
• Ambidextrous → identical control left- or right-handed.
📦 What’s in the Box
- 1 × BAZ™ Hybrid HD Knife Sharpening Jig Handle V4.1
- Note: Original knife jig not included — fits the common KJ-45* / KJ-140* style jig
🕒 60-Second, 3-Step Install
• Remove the factory handle from the jig — be careful not to lose the springs.
• Seat the BAZ™ Hybrid HD Handle V4.1 on the metal boss and align holes.
⚠️ Install the small-hole side first, double-hole side last. Be gentle.
• Finger-tighten both bolts, then snug evenly.
• Always make sure the second (larger) tightening screw is loose and fully undone before tightening the number 1 (smaller) screw to grip the blade as snug as possible before securing it with the second large screw.
🧾 Notes & Disclaimer
• Personally designed by Baz at iSharpen.
• Proudly 100% Made in Australia.
• Plastic handle supplied only — you’ll need the original metal jig parts.
• Store in a cool place (under 60 °C / 140 °F). High heat — such as car interiors — may deform the part.
• When fitting, install the single-hole side first, then slide the double-hole side into place and secure.
• Handle may show a few small artefacts that affect appearance only. Version 4.1 is the strongest version yet and should last many years.

As advertised. The “thumb under” position makes the whole sharpening process much more stable for me.
Magnificent!!! This is next level.
The BAZ KJ jig handle is everything it's advertised. Sturdy and easy to install. Holes line right up. No fuss. Color me impressed.
Love these handles makes sharpening much easier
Thanks Paul!
Like the knife gig adapter very much, it helps keep you in perfect form. The only criticism I have and it’s not a big one is that it could use a little extra weight.
Thanks Martin. Interesting. Never thought about the weight but now that you mention it, I think I agree. A bit more weight would help how it feels. I’m going to think on that.
